Amazing, I ran into the same problem today!
Lessfs has a socket listening and thats why I think it crashes when you
change the interface.

You could umount /fuse and remount I presume?

changing the IP back did not help.

The memory footprint is larger upfront (I measured that), but has remained quite stable (also measured). Awesome!
